The facade around the building is made entirely of glass, so that the workplaces of Triodos Bank employees are exposed to plenty of natural daylight and are strongly connected to the surrounding area.
The Triodos Bank office building is located on De Reehorst Estate in Zeist, Holland.
De Reehorst is part of a series of rural areas in Zeist and Driebergen and is an important link within the National Ecological Network.
Designed by RAU Architects and Ex Interiors, the fully sustainable, circular shaped building has a minimal CO2 footprint.
The facade around the building is made entirely of glass, so that the workplaces of Triodos Bank employees are exposed to plenty of natural daylight and are strongly connected to the surrounding area.
The three cores, floors and trusses are constructed of wood, which gives the building a natural look.
The building was awarded the Office Building of the Year in the Architectenweb Awards 2019.
Guardian SunGuard® SuperNeutral (SN 70/37) coated solar control glass was selected for the fully glazed façade due to its beautiful, neutral, transparent appearance with low reflection, consistent colour, high solar protection (37%) and high light transmission (70%), while ensuring energy savings.
This multifunctional coating minimizes the need for artificial light combined with outstanding thermal insulation.
