Guardian SunGuard® eXtra Selective (SNX) 60 was selected for the glazed façade at 60 Holborn Viaduct London
60 Holborn Viaduct London is an impressive office and retail development designed by international architects Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates. With an “Excellent” BREEAM rating, the nine-storey building offers more than 20,000 square metres of energy-efficient office space.
A key element in the design is the Gate House, a corner building in traditional stone architecture between the new development and the adjoining Victorian buildings. To the side of and behind this is a modern steel-and-glass façade with exterior shading elements.
Aluminium fins in front of the façade are particularly eye-catching. Each fin is twisted about its own axis at a different height, allowing different views into the building.
Guardian SunGuard® eXtra Selective (SNX) 60 was selected for the glazed façade. The coated solar control glass helps reduce energy costs by lowering the demand for artificial lighting, air conditioning and heating.
The glass has a transparent appearance that offers exceptional clarity, as well as low reflection and consistent colour, regardless of the viewing angle. The glass delivers optimum thermal insulation, enhancing the comfort and wellbeing of the building’s occupants at all times of the year.
